School

General description

 The school is located in the Moravian metropolis Brno's historical centre and consists of a kindergarten, a primary and lower-secondary school. We are currently educating 580 children at the age of 3 to 16. The pedagogical staff comprises about 40 teachers + another 20 members of support staff (support and specialist teachers, teacher assistants, educators etc.)

We began implementing the elements of the Dalton Plan in the 1990s. In 1996, in cooperation with other schools in Brno, we witnessed the birth of the Association of Czech Dalton Schools (today's Czech Dalton). Our school organizes educational conferences for the supporters of Dalton and innovative education every year.

Dalton principles such as independence, freedom, responsibility and cooperation have become part of our school’s curriculum and daily life.

We are a proud part of the international network of Dalton schools, and we have been certified “INTERNATIONAL DALTON SCHOOL” since 2008.

Specific for this school

We have been cooperating with Masaryk University in Brno for a long time in preparing student teachers.

We organize exchanges of students and teachers together with several foreign partner schools.

We are a model school participating in the project “Helping Schools Succeed”, and we try to fulfil the project vision in everyday school practice so that every pupil at our school could learn with joy and get the most out of it.
